___________________________________________________ Information We do not currently charge for our performances and our financial commitments are fully met by the charging of rehearsal fees to orchestra members. We do aim to supplement our income through a variety of fund raising activities and sponsorship to allow us to purchase some additional resources for the group. Rehearsals These are held fortnightly at Brackley Junior School on Sunday evenings from 6.30 to 8.00 pm. Rehearsal dates are notified in advance at the commencement of each school term; there are one or two longer rehearsal gaps to fit in around the school holidays. Stands are provided at each session; you will be provided with a copy of the relevant music for your instrument, as appropriate, after which you will be responsible for bringing this music along with you to each rehearsal and all performances. You will be provided with a BJO display folder to keep your music in. Fees The fee system to cover our costs is currently a single fee of £45, for the year up to and including July 2008; this covers our basic running costs. Helen Henshaw issues each orchestra member with an invoice for the one off fee and all money should be passed directly to Helen at rehearsals or posted to her home address. Orchestra members wear a polo shirt bearing the band’s logo for all performances and the cost of this is £12. Please provide Helen or Steve with a note of your size so that a shirt can be ordered on your behalf. BJO website We would like to draw your attention to our website: www.brackleyjazzorchestra.co.uk. This is currently still being developed and eventually it is hoped that in addition to being a useful source of information for band members on dates and details it could also be used by people to post and download photographs of our various performances. Performances You will be notified of performance bookings through regular newsletters. We very much hope that you will enjoy being a member of BJO; should you have any queries we have provided some contact details over the page. Regards Steve and Helen |
